Heart of England Foundation Trust employs over 10,000 members of staff, making it one of the top five employers in the Midlands. Comprising Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals as well as Birmingham Chest Clinic, the Trust serves a diverse population over a wide geographical area.

The Trust became a Foundation Trust in April 2005. In April 2007 it became the first in the NHS to acquire another Trust, merging with Good Hope Hospital. The Trust has a consistently strong financial position, enabling it to invest in significant capital expenditure and to ensure the highest standards in patient care.

With a reputation for developing new and innovative services, from the NHS’s first open field scanner to the availability of angioplasty 24 hours a day, the Trust is at the forefront of delivering pioneering health care for the communities it serves.

The Trust’s five values – excellence, cherishing, finding a way, innovation for advancement and working together - are the principles by which staff seek to deliver the best in patient care. At whatever stage you’re at in your career, you can expect your career goals to be supported in an environment which seeks to help everyone fulfil their potential.

The Health Service Journal has named Heart of England Foundation Trust ‘Acute Trust of the Year’, and the Nursing Times has featured Heart of England Foundation Trust as one of the ‘Top 10 Places to Work’.
