The E&D / Learning Disabilities Steering Group is the strategic decision making forum for dealing with equality and diversity issues at corporate level within the Trust. It will ensure that:
- Patient services and employment initiatives for diverse groups are incorporated into the organisation’s strategic business plans.
- The organisation is equipped to comply with the requirements of equality legislation and the Trust’s diversity strategy.
- Strategies are designed to ensure the Trust is an employer of choice.
- Ideas on services improvement and employment opportunities from the Equality Advisory Groups and the local community are considered and feedback provided as soon as possible.
- Quarterly reports from the Service Assess and Employment Sub-groups are submitted to clarify whether the Trust is meeting its Equality targets/ RADAR plans.
